Hey guys. Several of my classes are higher-level now, so you might notice that some of the stuff I post during the semesters are school stuff. Now that it's summer, I intend on getting back into the swing of things.

So Overlord of Ravenfell will be coming out of hiatus soon. I'm working more on a comic project that's been a side thing. If you want to see previews of this stuff, I set up a Patreon last week! Click here to go to it! Part of the reason I decided to try this is, as it is, I'm working full time AND going to school full time. If I can cut my hours even a little bit at my day job, it would be extremely helpful in letting me dedicate more time towards art and comics.

Thank you to everyone who supports me despite my absences. <3
Next month, I'll be in the Midoricon Artist Alley, hope to see you guys there!

Sorry I've been really silent lately, I've been having a lot of stuff going on.
I haven't really been uploading much since it's all either comics or studies from class.

Would any of you prefer reading Overlord of Ravenfell on DA?

I personally loathe DA as a comic reader, but I guess some people like all their art viewing in one place. I also don't wanna spam you guys with pages, so I thought I'd ask.
Spread this around if you have friends into steampunk.

My girlfriend got scammed out of $250 by porkshanks and their final communication was pretty much 'I'm not making the cane, you're selfish and probably deserve to be disabled'. She has the whole fiasco catalogued here.
Haven't been on here in a while, I've been much too busy working on Overlord of Ravenfell lately.

So, I'm changing jobs and going back to school in the fall. Not sure how much non-comic art I'll be pumping out, but I'll try to have more of a presence here even so.
If you like or draw comics, webcomics or no, I'd like to bring your attention to this kickstarter campaign: Japan Needs Heroes. We're aiming for a 200-250 page comic with a variety of comic artists big and small. What isn't used for printing will be donated to a charity that gives 100% of the proceeds toward Japan.

:) So I urge you to contribute, pledge, or just pass the news on.
Back from Ohayocon, and that was pretty tiring. Came back to find one of my kitties...trapped in the dresser. O.o;

Anyway, made a lot of friends there, like Lindsey who makes these adorable Rice Buddies, and our table neighbors Chi Studios and Beca. I also bought some stuff from neondragon, MadSniper, and the Folgios. Overall, I managed to resist the Dealer's Room.

Sales were pretty good, although I didn't manage to break even, but such is life. Promotion can be important too. <3
I'll be at table 14 unless they change it around on us again. ;D

I'll be selling the complete chapter 1 floppy of Overlord of Ravenfell and prints and all that stuff. :D

Looks like there'll be some pretty awesome artists at the con this year, like Neon Dragon and the Folgios and Madsniper.
Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes! I had a pretty good one, all things considered. Got the book I've been wanting(Dragon Soul by Jaida Jones and Danielle Bennette), went out to eat. Got a giant cookie rather than a cake, and lots of birthday wishes. Out heat decided to give out, can't find our extra filters we had in the basement, so currently holed in a room with an electric heater. >>

This month, I gotta finish several things for Ohayocon(Yes, I'll be in the Alley again!). In addition, I shall be writing up the summary for Avalon, as well as inking the next chapter of Overlord. On top of a few other things. Bah.

Hope everyone had a good holiday and New Years. <3
STEP ONE
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ.
The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes.
The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related to medium to really big.
The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post so that the holiday joy will spread.

STEP TWO
- Surf around your friends list (or friends friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true.

Ok, here's mine:

1. Giftart of my Overlord of Ravenfell characters.
2. Fic of my Overlord of Ravenfell characters? >>
3. This. This SO MUCH THANK YOU ALICE!
4. Hakuouki stuff like these adorable buggers.
5. This coat, omg.
6. A new wok. Why are the good ones so damn expensive?
7. LINA PLUSH!
8. More readers for my comic :B
9. Not having to worry about being able to afford the hotel for Ohayocon. :(
10. More time to finish all these damn pictures, gaaaah!

My paypal, as well as email, is raeraesama@hotmail.com
Edit: I started noting people what they got. I haven't finished yet, so you might still get a note tonight or tomorrow.

March 4th is Fan Appreciation Day(started by Ana Bagayan). In lieu of that, I'm hosting a little giveaway. I will be giving away:

-Sketch Requests
-Prints
-Buttons
-Whatever else I can think of

I urge you to post a comment on here if you want to enter the giveaway. It will be completely random. :)

(Please keep in mind that there are some things I will not draw for sketch requests including fanart, shota/loli, hentai/yuri, and mecha).
:la: San got me Copic Markers for a latelate(late) birthday present!

Hee. :la: :la:

So. You guys might be seeing a bit more marker works from me.
I'm closing commissions so I can focus on my comics. Depending on the work, I might make an exception, though, so feel free to note me even so.

Anyway, my Graphire died a few days ago. Today my tax returns came in so I acquired myself an Intuos 4. I had a tad bit of trouble figuring out how to orient it to be left-handed, but now everything's peachy keen!

Overlord of Ravenfell: I'm working slowly but surely on the pages, building a buffer. San and I have some awesome ideas for it. I'll try to keep you guys posted on it. :3
Back from Ohayocon, and I certainly had a blast!

We got there Thursday night intending to check in and set up for the Artist Alley, but it seems weather issues prevented the co-ordinators from arriving in time. Not sure when they'd be coming, we hung out with some of the other AA artists(who are awesome, by the way) until we learned nothing would be happening that night. So we moseyed up to our rooms and pretty much passed out.

Anyway, I was trying a vertical display this time and think it turned out rather nice, and I'm pretty sure it garnered me more attention than the previous year. I used the wire stackable shelves for my display and hung prints, badges, and corkboards full of pins and stickers.

My friend vicemage had a table across from me, and I met a few new cool people who I'll try to keep up with! The first day was kind of laid back. I got a few commissions and finished all but one that night. I packed up just a tad early because I had to hurry to Lisa Ortiz' autograph session. I got a fanart of Slayers made into a box and had her sign it. She seemed to like it. She said she'd stop by my table, although she never did. Her panels seemed all over the place, so I guess she just forgot.

Saturday was certainly brisker. I did a good amount of commissions but luckily got them all done before we closed up. Since it was busy, my girlfriend-slash-assisstant, ishrahsan went to Mike Sinterniklaas' panel for me to get out Xelloss stuff signed(while we can't see him in action for Evo or Revo yet, his voice is a very good match, in my opinion). Apparently he was very happy to have his first signings for Xelloss, so I gave him a Xelloss print. And he DID stop by my table on Sunday, which made my day! He was highly energetic and friendly.

Saturday night we went to a few interesting-sounding panels. I was rather disappointed with 'Name that Anime Tune' because it featured mostly newer animes that don't interest me. We did end up going to the Art Jam, which was, simply, awesomesauce. I saw someone with a t-shirt of Winter, a character from White Noise, a comic I read, and it turned out she was the creator. She gave me a keychain for recognizing it. We drew random things...mostly dragons, Jareths, and random BL for me. After we cut up the paper and traded sketches and DA's. Unfortunately they ended the jam early....right after we got caffiene, too!

Sunday was slow. I made a few sales, but mostly hung out and drew fun sketches to shake off commission burnout. I made a few item trades and exchanged business cards with several AA people, so came out with some awesome things.

All in all, I didn't break even. But cons are about networking and advertising too, so nothing wrong with that in my mind. Oh, and fun. Which I certainly had.

Certainly planning on going next year.
Anyone going to Ohayocon?

I made it into the Artist Alley again, so expect me there! I'd love to meet up with anyone else that's going, though! I didn't get much of a chance to socialize. >:

In other news, I'm sicker than I've been in a long time. So I'm pretty much utterly miserable.
THE BASICS: write a Christmas/Holiday wish list. It can be any 10 wishes you'd like to have granted, no matter what they are. Possible or seemingly impossible. People look and grant the wishes if they can. It's not about "OMFG PRESENTS", it's about making someone else's holiday a little brighter by giving. Personally, I get more out of giving than receiving sometimes. It's just a good feeling to give.

STEP ONE

** Make a post in your journal. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

** If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. In this case, you can always just note someone on dA.

** Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your journal, so that others can join in and participate to spread the holiday joy!

STEP TWO

** Surf around your friend list to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

** If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

** You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

NOW LET'S SEE IT!

1. A job that I can work from home with, preferably art related.

2. Time to work on more of my comic ideas...

3. Gift art of my characters X3;

4. My friends in better financial situations

5. A set of watercolor inks!

6. Not feeling tired all the damn time x_x

7. More awesome people to meet at Ohayocon :3

8. Hard to find artbooks like Tsuya by Atsuko Nakajima D; Goddammit, ishrahsan! Stop spoiling me!

9. Aion :3

10. Talking more with friends I don't see as often anymore, be it online or off <3

Contact info would be raeraesama@hotmail.com XD

At this time I am not selling the new Avalon's comic pages.
Looking through my huuuuge pile of drawings I was thinking maybe of selling off original sketches and linearts and such of some of my work. :/

Would anyone be interested in such a thing? If so, which pictures? Some I can't bear to part with or were gifts, of course.
